The Photographers

photographers

Daniel worked closely with professional photographers throughout the process of reporting The Book of Isaias. In Memphis, he had the support of photojournalist Karen Pulfer Focht, winner of the Casey Medal for her project on infant mortality. Her work has appeared in publications including Rolling Stone, The Atlantic and The Washington Post. Visit Karen’s site.

And during a crucial research trip to central Mexico in 2013, Daniel partnered with internationally recognized photographer Dominic Bracco II, who has worked in Mexico’s most troubled regions and has shot for publications including The New York Times Magazine and National Geographic. Karen and Dominic showed an intrepid spirit and made remarkable visual contributions to the book.
